SERVICE QUEEN

photos by Elías Román and HanJie Chow

Service Queen is a 20-minute Bouffon-style performance unraveling the story of a sex worker mermaid. A seriously satirical study of cigarettes, sex work, and the sea, the show stars a washed-up, fishy blonde bombshell on the hunt for her next client — or kill. Service Queen plays in the space where trauma, humor, and spectacle meet. The piece invites the audience to laugh — until they can’t. To confront the grotesque mechanics of desire, power, and performance. To get wet. To go under. So spread your legs and get ready to set sail. Ahoy, matey!
